Youtube Links of Sentai Episodes Taken Down

Ah sorry for not updating this blog for so long! But today, I bear bad news.

Probably if you want to watch subbed Sentai, you go to youtube, or just download those from TV-Nihon. For some of the older series, you usually go to youtube. But just lately, youtube has taken down A LOT of Sentai episodes and even suspended accounts that stores many of such videos. Most famously, DtKingdom's account.

I have no say on this one. You probably will have to deal with downloading through Megauploads or just go with RAWs. My say: Just do it. Sentai isn't really heavy on mind screws and all, and even if you only understand a little in Japanese, you can understand the story with the raw videos. If you still want to dig more infos, there's a lot of info in wikipedia, and Sean's blog should be of a great help to help you understand Sentai more.

That'll be all I say for now.

  1. That's too bad. I mean, yeah Youtube's quality wasn't the best, and this was bound to happen sooner or later. But it was a popular website for people to check out this stuff. That's really too bad.

As for the older seasons, they're getting subbed. Slowly, but they're getting there. Honestly, fans deserve way more than just information on the internet. Cause people will never get the same experience that way.

  2. From what I can tell from looking at other users who have uploaded Sentai on youtube, so far they've only targeted Shinkenger and Goseiger episodes. I don't know if that will change though, and I hope they don't target users like me who use the footage for music videos.

  3. I am not surprised this actually happened. It still makes me angry they do this. I'm worried this will affect other sentai or toku episodes on youtube.

    Anyone think this smells conspiracy?

  4. I don't think there's any conspiracy behind it. TOEI did it a few years ago as well. After that, I thought they've ignored the issue since I hadn't seen any action taken for several months, but I guess not.

  5. I guess it has to do with the copyright issues.

  6. Mr. Smith is right, there are some users that only has old school Sentai (not Shinkenger or Goseiger) and they're left behind.

Whether or not they will come for those accounts will be a matter of time, I guess...

  7. Hey ChrisX. Just curious, but is Goggle-V still popular in Indonesia? I understand it was popular in the 80s. But how about today?

  8. Well, as time moves on, so is everyone. I don't think everyone in Philippines still latches on Bioman to this day. It has aged, and people most probably moved on to Shinkenger/Goseiger.

But! Just like how Bioman is remembered as 'The Essential Sentai' in Philippines, Goggle V is pretty much 'The Essential Sentai' for Indonesia. So it's more like 'remembered fondly'. Same goes to Kamen Rider Black for Kamen Rider franchise.

  9. There are sites other than Youtube (Veoh has always been my personal Plan B, though they get crazy with ads.) I haven't seen any new Gosei there in a while, though. I gotta wonder why the people who posted so much on YT haven't found those other sites yet.
